Welcome to the ReviewTyme community!
Our aim is to create an exciting platform for people to share their love of theme parks. We want everyone to be part of our community and to have their voice heard.
A love of theme parks does not just mean constant praise and criticism is welcome as this is a place for discussion. Differing ideas and debates will arise. Remember to respect one another, challenge your own beliefs, try to see where somebody is coming from, and criticise ideas, not people.
Avoid name-calling, ad hominem attacks, responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content, and knee-jerk contradiction. Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation. If you disagree with someone, try to understand and share their feelings before you address them. This will promote a respectful and friendly atmosphere where people feel comfortable asking questions, participating in discussions, and making contributions. Additionally, communicating with strangers on the Internet can be awkward. Try to use clear language, and think about how it will be received by the other person.
From the wise words of the Penny Arcade forums:
"These forums are at various times a haven for silliness, debate, discussion, humour, advice and various other forms of discourse. They are not, at any time, a haven for dicks. Forums that are welcoming to dicks exist and you are more than welcome to go and find one, but we are not interested in running one here."
The same applies here.
We encourage your feedback and aim to respond to your comments as soon as possible. While we do moderate this community, we welcome open discussion.
The ReviewTyme staff consists of @Dom Lacey and @Luke Carroll
Some further rules we want to outline:
These forums are restricted to ages 13+ and it is expected that all users, regardless of age, are able to act in a mature and respectful fashion.
You will not post any copyrighted material to the forum. If you post images as the original copyright holder you provide ReviewTyme permission to use the images for promotional purposes.
We do not allow defamatory, indecent, offensive, profane, discriminatory, misleading, unlawful or threatening post or comments. On top of this, posting or commenting illegal, pornographic, or pirated/stolen content will result in an immediate ban.
Personal attacks, name-calling, trolling and abuse will not be tolerated.
Spamming, posting promotional material or posting links to third party websites for the purpose of promotion is not permitted. Self-promotion is allowed if it on topic but must be a comment and not a post itself.
Users are only permitted one account. No alternative accounts, or 'alts'. They will be removed and your original account may be banned.
We reserve the right to delete comments at our discretion and block any repeat offenders. We will remove content that is fraudulent, deceptive or misleading.
Coordinated group attacks will not be tolerated.
Respect that other people in the community have had different life experiences and may have a different perspective to yours. We welcome different viewpoints.
Our community is a public place. Don’t post personal information that you would not be comfortable sharing with a stranger. We recommend that you don’t post any information that may identify you or anyone else, such as your address, email address or phone number.
Impersonation of staff, moderators, and other members is not allowed. If you are a prominent figure in the theme park community and would like to be verified then please contact staff with proof for identification. Any person not verified could be anybody.
Whilst Moderators do not represent ReviewTyme and are entitled to their own opinion, they are expected to uphold a standard of professionalism. If you believe this has not been met please contact @Dom Lacey or @Luke Carroll.
The excuse of "but there's no rule for it!" is not an excuse for bad behaviour. It is expected that all users are mature enough to understand this.
If you have any questions or want clarification on any rules then please get in contact with the ReviewTyme staff.
